Joe Knott worked as an Agricultural Inspector for the County of San Diego Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures for 20 years. It was there that he developed his passion, knowledge and experience of Entomology, insect identification, pest control techniques and pesticide regulation. Always looking for a new challenge, Joe retired from the County at age 45 and went into the pest control industry.

He founded Knott's Pest Control and was Incorporated in 1981. His three sons, Donald, Deron and Brian, who had been around Pest Control since childhood, joined their father in the family business. Nowadays, Joe is as close to "retired" as he'll ever be, staying active as our Field Consultant and continuing to share his 50 years of knowledge and experience with our clientele.

Knott's Pest Control, Inc. is proudly run by Joe's son, Deron Knott. Deron has been around various aspects of pest control his entire life. Joining the company in 1985, he's been a licensed Applicator for 25 years, specializing in General Pest Control as well as Invasive Plant Management.

Ants form colonies that range in size from a few dozen predatory individuals living in small natural cavities to highly organized colonies which may occupy large territories and consist of millions of individuals.
These larger colonies consist mostly of sterile wingless females forming castes of "workers", "soldiers", or other specialized groups.
Nearly all ant colonies also have some fertile males called "drones" and one or more fertile females called "queens".
The colonies are sometimes described as superorganisms because the ants appear to operate as a unified entity, collectively working together to support the colony.
Honey Bees become a big nuisance and threat for human beings and other animals when they start inhabiting localities in abnormally large numbers.
Often, this results in unwanted encounters, which are typically not pleasing experiences.
What's more, these encounters can turn fatal for the victims of Honey Bee attack.
Such a situation presents a typical case of Honey Bee Infestation: Bees start building their hives in almost every possible place; in cracks of walls, in attics, in boxes, in pipes, in ventilators, in shades, on trees in your garden, in garages and every place you can think of and that has been untouched for a few days.
Bed bugs are parasites that preferentially feed on humans.
If people aren't available, they will feed on other warm-blooded animals, including birds, rodents, bats, and pets instead.
Bed bugs have been documented as pests since the 17th century.
They were introduced into our country by the early colonists.
Bed bugs were common in the United States prior to World War II, after which time widespread use of synthetic insecticides such as DDT greatly reduced their numbers.
Improvements in household and personal cleanliness as well as increased regulation of the used furniture market also likely contributed to their reduced pest status.
Spiders (order Araneae) are air-breathing arthropods that have eight legs and chelicerae with fangs that inject venom.
They are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in total species diversity among all other groups of organisms.
Spiders are found worldwide on every continent except for Antarctica, and have become established in nearly every habitat with the exception of air and sea colonization.
As of 2008, approximately 40,000 spider species, and 109 families have been recorded by taxonomists; however, there has been confusion within the scientific community as to how all these families should be classified, as evidenced by the over 20 different classifications that have been proposed since 1900.
